Accountant - Construction

Our client, a well-established organization in the construction services sector, is seeking an experienced and dynamic Accountant to take ownership of core financial processes. This individual will play a pivotal role in managing monthly project draws, financial reporting, and maintaining the integrity of the general ledger, while supporting the company’s growth through ongoing systems and process improvements. The ideal candidate is proactive, highly organized, and brings strong technical accounting expertise combined with exceptional communication skills.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting OR an associate’s degree in accounting with at least 1 year of relevant experience
• Proficiency with Quick Books Premier Contractor Edition and Microsoft Office 365
• Solid understanding of general ledger functions, journal entries, financial reporting, and reconciliations
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• High degree of confidentiality and sound judgment in handling sensitive financial matters

• Background in construction industry accounting, including job costing and managing monthly project draws
• Experience with CoConstruct or similar project management tools
• Familiarity with systems integration and process improvement initiatives
• A proactive and analytical mindset, comfortable with risk assessment and calculated decision-making
• Ability to communicate persuasively and intuitively, engaging in constructive and courageous conversations
• Proven experience building cross-functional relationships across internal teams and external partners
• Driven, energetic, and thrives in a multitasking environment
