Our client is a hospital offering 24/7 emergency care in the South Metro area of Minnesota. They are currently seeking a Full-Time or Part-Time Emergency Veterinarian to join their growing team. This opportunity is open to both experienced veterinarians and recent graduates who are passionate about emergency medicine and want to work in a supportive, relationship-driven environment.
The hospital operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, including holidays. Veterinarians work varied shifts to provide continuous emergency and critical care coverage, with flexibility offered for both full‑time and part‑time schedules.
Role Description and ResponsibilitiesThe role focuses on delivering emergency and critical care services, managing a wide range of urgent cases from trauma and toxicity to surgical emergencies such as foreign body removal, laceration repair, c‑sections, and GDV. Daily responsibilities include diagnostics, patient triage and stabilization, surgery, pain management, fluid therapy, transfusions, and advanced patient monitoring. The position is open to new and recent graduates, with mentorship and support available.
The hospital includes four exam rooms, central triage and treatment areas, an in‑house lab, radiology services, ICU, and a fully equipped surgical suite. There is an isolation ward for infectious cases and the facility is feline‑conscious, emphasizing stress‑free handling. Diagnostic capabilities include CBC, chemistry, electrolytes, blood gas and coagulation analysis, ECG, blood pressure monitoring, digital radiography, ultrasound, toxicity screening, urinalysis, ELISA testing, and fecal analysis, with access to board‑certified radiology interpretation.
Advanced therapeutic options include oxygen therapy with Snyder units, blood and plasma transfusions, IV and enteral nutrition, thermal support, anesthesia, and hospitalization. The hospital also provides overnight and holiday care for partner clinics.
The current team consists of 7 DVMs who collaborate to deliver high‑quality emergency care in a supportive, communicative environment. The culture emphasizes compassionate service and teamwork, making it an ideal setting for both experienced veterinarians and those at the start of their careers.
