Irrigation Service Technician
Role Purpose
The Irrigation Service Technician is a critical, hands-on role dedicated to the health and sustainability of our clients' landscapes. You will be the primary expert responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and optimizing irrigation systems for premier commercial and residential properties. This role combines technical mechanical skill with administrative precision and high-level client communication.
Key Responsibilities Technical Execution & DiagnosticsSystem Mastery: Troubleshoot, repair, and install irrigation components, including valves, heads, and piping.
Advanced Diagnostics: Utilize specialized electrical equipment—such as multimeters, fault finders, and wire locators—to identify and resolve complex system failures.
Controller Management: Program, diagnose, and repair irrigation controllers to ensure optimal water coverage and conservation.
Smart Technology: Stay current with the latest irrigation tech, including Wi-Fi-enabled controllers and moisture-sensing systems.
Logistics & Planning: Coordinate daily workloads, ensuring all necessary materials and equipment are loaded and ready for the field.
Digital Reporting: Use BOSS Mobile to submit precise daily timesheets and track material usage for accurate client billing.
Fleet Integrity: Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked service vehicle, ensuring all tools and safety equipment are present and functional.
Leadership Presence: Lead by example by enforcing company policies regarding safety, punctuality, and professional appearance among crew members.
Professional Relations: Act as a face of the company, providing clear updates and professional advice to clients, contractors, and internal managers.
Collaboration: Work closely with the Production Manager to report progress, plan future projects, and ensure "Bland Standard" quality.
Safety Stewardship: Actively participate in safety meetings and ensure the safe operation of all heavy machinery (trenchers, skid loaders, etc.).

Required Skills
Requirements & QualificationsTechnical Skill: Proven experience in irrigation repair and the ability to operate construction equipment (trenchers, excavators).
Licensing: Must possess a valid NC Driver’s License and maintain a clean driving record (safe trailering experience is a plus).
Problem-Solving: Strong ability to work with minimal supervision and troubleshoot issues independently.
Physical Stamina: Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform repetitive bending/stooping.
Compliance: Ability to pass a criminal background check and adhere to all PPE and safety protocols.
Adaptability: Willingness to support other divisions (Install, Floriculture, or Snow Removal) during peak seasonal needs.
