Diesel Mechanic

Dura Fleet – Raleigh-Durham is seeking an experienced Full-Time Diesel / Fleet Mechanic to join our growing commercial mobile maintenance and repair business. This role is ideal for a skilled, self-motivated mechanic who enjoys working independently and providing high-quality electrical and mechanical diagnostics and repairs on gas and diesel trucks, trailers, and equipment directly at customer locations.

Dura Fleet provides convenient, cost-effective, and comprehensive mobile service for fleet managers and small business owners. We perform maintenance and repairs on trucks, trailers, and equipment on-site and also provide emergency roadside assistance for tractor trailers.

• Operate a company-provided mobile service truck to customer locations and roadside service calls
• Perform pre-inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on diesel and gas trucks, trailers, and equipment
• Diagnose, repair, and perform maintenance on engines, transmissions, electrical systems, air brakes, suspension, cooling systems, hydraulics, and more
• Provide friendly, professional, and thorough communication with customers at all times
• Coordinate with the owner regarding parts needs and additional service requirements
• Complete repairs in a safe, thorough, and timely manner
• Accurately document all work performed on repair orders
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked service truck
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Minimum of five (5) years of experience working on diesel trucks, trailers, and equipment
• Extensive diesel experience required; trailer and equipment experience required
• Gas engine experience is desirable
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Experience with engines, transmissions, electrical systems, air conditioning, air brakes, suspension, cooling systems, and hydraulics
• Ability to read and interpret written information and document repairs clearly and accurately
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Must possess personal hand tools required for diesel and fleet repair (specialty tools provided)

• More than ten (10) years of experience working on trucks, trailers, and equipment
• Previous mobile repair experience
• Welding and fabrication experience
• CDL (Commercial Driver’s License)

• Mobile position covering Raleigh, Durham, and surrounding areas
