Building Maintenance, Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Position Summary:
The Interior Labor Technician is responsible for performing comprehensive renovation and upgrade work on apartment units and common areas to ensure the property meets company quality standards. This position requires advanced knowledge of general maintenance and construction practices, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality results within established deadlines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Execute renovation projects including drywall installation and repair, painting, flooring, cabinetry, lighting, plumbing, and appliance replacement.
- Prepare vacant units for occupancy, ensuring all work meets company quality, safety, and timeline requirements.
- Collaborate with the Maintenance Supervisor to prioritize unit turns, renovation schedules, and material needs.
- Inspect completed work to verify compliance with company standards and applicable building codes.
- Maintain accurate records of completed work orders, materials used, and project timelines.
- Ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of tools and protective equipment.
- Assist with special projects, capital improvements, and preventive maintenance tasks as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, storage rooms, and equipment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade certification preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in apartment maintenance, renovation, or construction required.
- Proficient in basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and painting techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and maintain insurability under company policy.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and perform physical activities such as standing, bending, climbing, and kneeling for extended periods.

Working Conditions:
This position involves regular exposure to construction materials, dust, noise, and varying temperatures. Work may be performed both indoors and outdoors and requires adherence to company safety protocols at all times.
