Empowerment Specialist Responsibilities
Education/Training:
- Prepares, coordinates and provides training for businesses, groups or professionals to help them identify and respond to trafficking; makes recommendations for prevention; makes recommendations for restoration support; answer questions
- Provides survey to attendees for feedback on effectiveness of presentation
- Responsible for the Train the Trainer aspect of the Shield Learning Institute which includes:
- Conducting background checks and gathering essential documentation from prospective trainers
- Facilitating Train the Trainer sessions
- Scheduling virtual practice sessions for the new trainer to hone their HT 101 skills
- Identifying the readiness of a new trainer to independently conduct sessions
- Maintaining communication with volunteer trainers to disseminate information on human trafficking, resources, case studies, and other relevant topics, while ensuring their effective representation of Shield NC.
- Ensuring that new contacts introduced by volunteer trainers are added to the CRM system or followed up on accordingly.
- Provides assistance with the LMS aspect of the Shield Learning Institute as requested.
- Actively searches out training opportunities, follows up on leads/opportunities
- Attends Chamber of Commerce meetings when available to network within communities and to encourage human trafficking training and policies for other members
- Creates invoice for speaking engagements when necessary
General:
- Records Training information on the Event Tracker in the Shield Google Drive
- Works closely with the Development Specialist to ensure Training Events are promoted through our social media, on our website and in our newsletter. Also arranges for photos to be taken of the events to be shared with the Engagement Specialist..
- Assures costs stay within the financial budget unless pre-approval is received by the board. (Exec Director can assist with this,)
- Is a representative of Shield NC and adheres to ethical guidelines and Code of Conduct.
- Attends Shield donor or volunteer events when available.
- Attends weekly team meeting
- Provides a written report to the Exec Director one week in advance of the monthly board meeting to be shared with the board.
- Completes monthly invoice
- Expected total hours: 20 hours/week
