ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- LEA representative responsibilities
- Represent the district at IEP meetings within the district, SEDOL, and private educational settings
- Assist building principals with issues related to providing appropriate educational services to all district 34 students in the least restrictive environment
- Oversees ESY; serves as ESY Administrator
- Support the development and delivery of special services to District 34 students
- Monitor implementation of special education procedures and processes following federal, state and local guidelines as well as best practices
- Assist in the recruitment, selection and retainment of special education staff
- Facilitate staff development related to special services
- Evaluate special services staff, as requested
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Student Services and/or Superintendent
- Shall assume any other duties as may from time to time be delegated by immediate Supervisor. Furthermore, the Supervisor shall make any adjustments in the scope of responsibilities as outlined above which will be in the best interest of the school district.
- PEL with LBS1, Administrator endorsement
- An instructional leader who has completed a principal preparation program with a principal or general administrative endorsement on a Professional Educator License (PEL) and is eligible to work as a school principal.
Salary, length of work year and ongoing service shall be determined by the Board of
