• Read and write English; interact with the public and co‑workers
• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, pricing codes, shelf tags, and memos
• Write simple correspondence
• Present information in one‑on‑one and small group settings to customers, clients, and employees

• Maintain assigned store sections and stock merchandise using proper equipment (excluding power/heavy equipment)
• Ensure proper pricing and rotation of merchandise; check dates and promote product freshness
• Prepare perishable products for sale as needed
• Set up advertising and promotional displays
• Maintain sanitation standards in all interior and exterior areas, including parking lot
• Offer friendly, knowledgeable, efficient and courteous assistance to customers, providing current store and product information
• Help customers load purchases into their vehicles when requested
• Record lost or damaged goods and store supplies in basic bookkeeping tasks
