Overview
The City of Antioch is currently accepting applications for the part-time Police Dispatcher (per diem) position located within the Antioch Police Department. This is a part-time job posting and job posting may close at any time. Applicants are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.

Applicants must upload a copy of their POST Dispatcher certificate and an in-person typing certificate with their application. This position requires a POST Dispatcher certificate. The City reserves the right to refuse any certificate. If a valid typing certificate and POST certificate are not submitted at the time of application, your application may be disqualified.
This recruitment is open until filled; applications will be reviewed on an ongoing basis. Priority will be given to qualified lateral applicants.
TYPING CERTIFICATE REQUIREMENT: A typing certificate, validated within the last six (6) months, must be attached to your online application. Certificates indicating a typing speed of at least 45 net words per minute (wpm) will be accepted from a recognized employment agency, business school, or adult school. Online typing certificates will not be accepted. The certificate must indicate it was a 5-minute timed exercise, show the number of errors, and show the gross wpm and net wpm (net wpm is calculated by deducting 2 wpm for each error).
The City reserves the right to refuse any certificate and require a re-test. If a valid typing certificate, and POST certificate are not submitted at the time of application, your application will be disqualified.
Summary Description
Under general supervision, performs a variety of duties involved in receiving, evaluating, prioritizing, and relaying 9-1-1, emergency, and non-emergency calls for service for the cities of Antioch and Brentwood, as well as Antioch Animal Control; inputs calls into CAD (computer aided dispatch); dispatches appropriate units and coordinates response of emergency personnel; operates a variety of telecommunications equipment including radio, telephone, and computer aided dispatch systems;
and performs a wide variety of specialized clerical duties involved in the preparation, maintenance, and release of materials related to law enforcement activities.
