Overview
The City of Antioch is recruiting an Administrative Assistant I/II to support our team. The role involves managing calendars, coordinating meetings, preparing reports, and handling a variety of clerical and administrative tasks using office procedures, records management, basic accounting, and business communication.
Responsibilities- Maintain and coordinate calendars and meeting schedules for assigned staff.
- Screen office calls, visitors, and mail; provide information and assistance to the public and City staff.
- Prepare and edit documents, reports, correspondence, memoranda, and agenda items.
- Organize office files, records, and logs; develop and maintain standard office forms and reports.
- Process travel arrangements, expense claims, purchase requisitions, and vendor invoices.
- Assist in planning, coordinating, and implementing special projects and events.
- Provide lead supervision to lower level clerical staff when assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional coursework in office procedures or business administration desirable.
- One year of responsible clerical and office support experience for Administrative Assistant I; three years for Administrative Assistant II.
- Basic knowledge of city operations, office procedures, records management, basic accounting, and business communication.
- Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, and database applications.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to work independently and exercise judgment.
Local 3 Bargaining Unit $4,327–$5,258 Monthly (Administrative Assistant I); $4,782–$5,813 Monthly (Administrative Assistant II). Confidential bargaining units available.
