As a Safety Advisor at Anthem Properties, you will play a vital role in fostering a culture of safety and compliance on our construction sites. You’ll work closely with the Project and Construction teams to implement, monitor, and ensure adherence to our project‑specific health and safety system, while driving initiatives that protect our people and housing building projects in Calgary.
Responsibilities- Support the implementation and monitoring of the project‑specific Health and Safety system
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and Anthem policies by guiding field teams and trade contractors
- Conduct site inspections to identify risks and recommend safety improvements
- Oversee inspections, ensuring deficiencies are promptly addressed and documented
- Coordinate new worker and trade partner HSE orientations and maintain training records
- Participate in safety committee meetings and incident investigations
- Develop contractor relationships and continually work to improve Anthem safety culture
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections
- Administer first aid as needed and conduct site inspections
- Review safety forms and permits, track safety documentation
- Provide safety guidance to the project superintendent and teams
- Update safety statistics and lead toolbox talks
- Ensure trade partner safety documentation is up to date
- Inspect emergency safety equipment and ensure COR certification compliance
- 3‑5 years of experience in health and safety within construction and residential real estate
- Degree or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent work experience
- CRST/CRSP certification is a strong asset
- Standard First Aid & CPR certifications
- Proficiency with safety management tools (e.g., Site Docs)
- Experience in incident investigation and reporting
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work in a fast‑paced environment
- Team‑oriented with excellent problem‑solving abilities
Valid driver’s license and good driving record
