The Role
We are seeking a Junior IT Support Specialist to join a leading global manufacturer specializing in electrical connection and protection solutions. This will cover the night shift (Monday-Friday). This role is ideal for someone passionate about technology and eager to provide hands‑on support in a dynamic production environment. You will play a key role in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, ensuring smooth operations across hardware, software, and networking systems.
Job DescriptionAs an IT Manufacturing Support Specialist, you will:
- Address assigned technical issues using problem‑solving skills.
- Escalate complex tasks to Senior Support Specialists when advanced technical expertise is required.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and leadership to understand IT support needs and processes.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and operating system issues.
- Take ownership of assigned issues to ensure timely resolution in accordance with the SLA.
- Analyze, diagnose, and resolve end‑user problems, providing remote support using standard tools.
- Expedite issue resolution by coordinating with team members and management.
- Accurately document troubleshooting steps and resolutions.
- Develop and submit knowledge‑base articles for review and approval.
- Provide on‑call support during non‑business hours when needed.
- Perform IT support and project tasks as assigned, including walking the production floor to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- 2+ years of experience supporting Windows and iOS environments in large enterprises.
- Experience covering night shifts as an IT support professional a plus
- Proficiency with Windows 10/11, Office 365, iOS, and device management.
- Knowledge of SCCM, Azure AD, Active Directory, and O365.
- Experience with disk imaging, including PXE booting devices using SCCM.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs).
- Ability to support deployment and changes to the networking infrastructure.
- Strong problem‑solving and advanced troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Detail‑oriented with strong documentation skills.
- Ability to manage customer relationships with professionalism and poise.
Physical ability to meet role demands, including imaging PCs and walking the production floor multiple times per shift. - Experience with ticket management systems (Fresh Service experience a plus).
- Strong desire to continuously expand technical knowledge.
- Experience in maintaining accurate IT asset inventory.
- Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
