Environmental Health & Safety Engineer
Compensation: $100,000

Schedule:
Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Engineer is responsible for managing and maintaining all environmental, health, and safety programs across manufacturing operations. This role partners closely with site leadership, vendors, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulations. The EHS Engineer plays a critical role in promoting a safe, compliant, and accident-free workplace while ensuring facilities are always prepared for internal and external inspections.
ResponsibilitiesSafety & Regulatory Compliance
Maintain OSHA compliance across all facilities through planning, scheduling, and implementation of required programs and training.
Develop, update, and maintain safety procedures, training materials, and compliance documentation.
Serve as the primary facility representative when working with OSHA and other regulatory agencies.
Manage regulatory filings and documentation for inspections and audits.
Establish and maintain safety, health, and environmental policies aligned with current laws and regulations.
Environmental & Facility Oversight
Perform daily and periodic safety inspections across manufacturing facilities.
Develop and manage emergency response plans and procedures.
Oversee Safety Data Sheet (SDS) systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance through routine audits.
Create and manage budgets related to safety and environmental initiatives.
Collaboration & Training
Partner with Human Resources, workers’ compensation carriers, and insurance providers to meet safety and policy requirements.
Schedule and facilitate monthly safety committee meetings; document and distribute meeting minutes and follow up on action items.
Promote a proactive safety culture and continuous improvement mindset across operations.
Additional Responsibilities
Support special safety initiatives and audits as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Associate’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety or a related field
7+ years of relevant EHS experience, preferably in manufacturing or industrial environments
Experience with ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications
Associate Safety Professional (ASP)
Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
Strong understanding of OSHA, EPA, and workplace safety regulations
Knowledge of workers’ compensation processes and applicable federal, state, and local laws
Ability to develop, implement, and audit safety programs
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
