Full‑Time 184 days/6.5 hrs/day
Duties- Assists in the instruction of students with disabilities in mainstream, resource room or center‑based settings. Though duties vary by age or level of disability, typical responsibilities include managing behavior (redirecting, calming, or removing a disruptive student from the classroom); monitoring and recording student progress in instructional areas (academics, daily living skills, dressing, grooming, social skills, etc.); and managing physical needs (toileting, feeding, dressing, lifting, positioning, transporting students in wheelchairs, etc.).
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Personal Care Assistant certification completed within 30 days of start date.
- Completed 60 semester/90 quarter credits or obtained an associate degree (or higher) from a regionally accredited institution, or passed the Para Educator exam or Para Pro exam (documentation required).
- Good communication, interpersonal and record‑keeping skills.
- Ability/desire to work with technology and computers.
- Ability to work cooperatively with students and staff, to supervise students, to take direction, and to maintain regular attendance, including completing an assigned day.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds and perform other physical requirements (toileting, feeding, self‑care procedures, implementing behavioral management program, maintaining student data, working with students who may display aggressive/ abusive/ inappropriate verbal or physical behavior).
- Must be physically present in the building.
$20.00/hour to $25.30/hour DOQ with K‑12 experience
$21.15/hour to $26.45/hour with AA/AAS degree or 60 semester/90 quarter credits from a regionally accredited institution, DOQ with K‑12 experience
$22.00/hour to $27.30/hour with BA degree from a regionally accredited institution, DOQ with K‑12 experience
Special Ed Paras serving center‑based students and classrooms 50% or more of their time shall receive an additional $0.50 per hour.
Special Ed Paras at Two Rivers Transition Program or River Trail Learning Center shall receive an additional $1.00/hour.

Insurance BenefitsInsurance benefits are available for assigned positions of 6 hours or more per day.
Paraeducators assigned to positions of six (6) or more hours per day who start on or after March 9, 2026, will become eligible for insurance benefits at the start of the 2026‑27 school year.
