ELEMENTARY SPECIAL EDUCATION PARAEDUCATORS for Extended School Year and Targeted Services

Dates & Summer Hours- June 10 - Teacher/Para Educator set-up day
- June 15 June 18, Monday thru Thursday, Monday thru Friday, 4.5 hours per day
- June 22 June 25, Monday thru Thursday, Monday thru Friday, 4.5 hours per day
8:55 am - 12:25 pm / Student contact hours are 9:10am - 12:10pm
Assignments will be made based on student needs.

- Oxbow Creek Elementary School
Assist with and support specialized instruction to students receiving special education services for maintenance of skills related to IEP goals and objectives in either a multi‑age, cross categorical setting or multi‑age, disability explicit setting to maintain skills which are subject to regression/recoupment, self‑sufficiency, or unique needs. Assist with the implementation of student IEP accommodations/modifications/assistive technology and behavior support plans. Additional responsibilities will include supporting review of instruction for student repetition and practice, personal care (feeding, toileting), lifting, physical assists, behavior management, and bus supervision.
TargetedServices:
Assist with the implementation of student IEP accommodations/modifications/assistive technology, behavior support plans and review of instruction for student repetition and practice. Assist with facilitation of positive student behavior and by working with students and staff. Support students who struggle with participating in the classroom.
Minimum Qualifications- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to work effectively with students with disabilities.
- Good communications, interpersonal and recordkeeping skills.
- Ability to work cooperatively with students and staff.
- Ability to take direction.
- Ability to maintain regular attendance, which includes completing an assigned day.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds.
- Ability to perform position responsibilities, including physical factors, work devices, materials handling, data functions and people functions, but not limited to: toileting, feeding and self care procedures, implementing behavioral management program; maintaining student data; working with students who may display aggressive, abusive or inappropriate verbal and/or physical behavior.
New Hires $20.00/hour. Current Paras accepting employment in their same category shall be paid at their school year ending hourly rate on the salary schedule through their summer employment, including seniority and academic credits. Paras accepting employment in a different category shall be paid that category's school year ending hourly rate on the salary schedule at the relevant step including seniority and academic credits.
There is no sick leave or vacation for summer staff.
