Job Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Medical-Surgical unit position in Alabama, requiring an AL or compact RN license, BLS, and experience with IV starts, wound care, and adult/geriatric patient populations.

• Hospital medical-surgical unit setting serving adult and geriatric patients
• Patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:6
• Day shift, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM, with an option for 4x12-hour shifts
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• Floating required
• Charge nurse duties may be required on an as-needed basis
• 30-minute lunch break required — meal breaks cannot be skipped
• Local candidates within a 60-mile radius of the facility are eligible to apply, though a reduced local pay rate applies
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of contract confirmation — no RTO will be approved after the contract is confirmed
• Schedules cannot be adjusted once the contract is confirmed
• The facility cannot accommodate or work around other per diem schedules or concurrent contracts

• Active AL RN license or a compact RN license recognized in Alabama
• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Completed fit test required
• Proficiency in IV starts, isolation precautions, and wound care/wound vac
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification preferred
• Level II trauma experience preferred
• Travel nursing experience preferred
