Job Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Medical-Surgical position requiring IV starts, wound care skills, and night shift availability with every other weekend requirements.
Responsibilities- Hospital Medical-Surgical unit setting
- Adult and geriatric patient population
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6
- Night shift schedule, 7pm–7am (3x12-hour shifts), with an option for 4x12s
- Every other weekend required
- Floating required
- Charge nurse responsibilities on an as-needed basis
- Local candidates within a 60-mile radius of the facility are considered, though a different pay rate applies
- All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of contract confirmation — no RTO will be approved after the contract is confirmed
- Schedules cannot be adjusted once the contract is confirmed
- Accommodation around other per diem schedules or contracts is not available
- A 30-minute meal break is required each shift — no skipped meals permitted
- Active AL RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
- Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required
- Fit test required
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification preferred
- Proficiency in IV starts, isolation precautions, and wound care including wound vac required
- Level II Trauma experience preferred
- Prior travel nursing experience preferred
