This role supervises daily activities of support staff or production team members, sets priorities, ensures task completion, and coordinates work activities with other supervisors. The supervisor engages in problem solving guided by policies and procedures and exercises consistent discretion and judgment.

• Supervises the daily activities of support staff or production team members. Does not typically perform the work supervised.
• Must have one direct report or more.
• Sets priorities for the team to ensure task completion; coordinates work activities with other supervisors.
• Problem solving is guided by policies and procedures; receives guidance and oversight from manager.
• Consistent exercise of discretion & judgment.

• Oversees skilled trade workers who produce and repair precision metal parts and tools for use in manufacturing.
• Supervises repair & maintenance machine shop operations and inspects finished parts and tools against specified tolerances.
• Reviews work orders and scheduling resources.
• Monitors machine shop tools/equipment and adjusts setups, calibrations, and alignments where required.
• Leads and directs the work of other employees and has responsibility for personnel actions including hiring, performance management, and termination with concurrence from HR & General Managers.

• Required education and experience: Associate's Degree and 5-7 years' experience OR equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
• Critical professional related technical skills; computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

• Preferred education and experience: Bachelor's Degree.
• Knowledge, skills & abilities: Leadership skills, mathematical skills, technical expertise, attention to detail, equipment maintenance, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), machine operation, machine programming, manufacturing, machining milling, numerical control, precision machining, precision measurement, reading blueprints/diagrams, safety policies and procedures, mechanical maintenance.

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
• Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
• Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
• This position is safety‑sensitive.
