Job Details:

• Night shift position with every other weekend schedule

• Option for 4x12 hour shifts

• Floating to like units required

• Patient ratio of 1:6 for all shifts

• Possible charge nurse responsibilities as needed

• Care for adult and geriatric patient population

• 30-bed medical surgical unit treating regular medical surgical patients

• 30-minute lunch break required with no skipped meals policy

• Must adhere to call-in policy

•

Required skills:

IV starts, isolation precautions, wound care/wound vac, colostomy/ileostomy management, feeding tube care, blood product administration, peripheral line care, PICC line management, heparin and insulin administration, PCA management, surgical drains, nasal cannula and oxygen administration

• Alabama nursing license required

• Required certifications: BLS via AHA and Fit Test

• NIHSS certification preferred

• Level II trauma experience and travel experience preferred

• Previous charge experience preferred

• Minimum 1 year of experience required

• Charting system experience required

• Must complete facility modules during orientation

The facility offers interdisciplinary support services including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary support. The organization maintains strict policies regarding meal breaks and attendance to ensure quality patient care and staff wellbeing.
