Your Role as a Pre-K Assistant Teacher
:
We are seeking passionate educators to assist the AL Pre-K Lead Teacher in classroom activities, adhering to standards set by the AL Dept of Early Care and Learning and aligning with the AL Pre-K Curriculum. In this supportive role, you’ll contribute to a nurturing atmosphere for children and their families, help foster strong relationships, and assist with planning and implementing learning experiences that promote physical health, social-emotional growth, cognitive development, and creative expression.
You’ll observe and assess children’s development and help customize the curriculum to meet individual needs, supporting our mission to guide young learners toward a bright future.
You Might Be the Perfect Fit if You
:
- You must be at least 18 years old, have a high school diploma or GED, a minimum of one year’s preschool teaching experience, hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field, and be actively pursuing or holding an Alabama DOE (ADECE) Pre-K Teacher Certification. Additionally, you should have Alabama First Class Pre-K Teacher Certification, a valid teaching certificate from another state with eligibility for an Alabama Pre-K Certificate, or a degree in a related field that qualifies you for an Alabama Pre-K Teacher Certification.
- Have genuine empathy and understanding of children’s needs and development.
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Exhibit flexibility and adaptability to meet community needs and changing circumstances.
- Capable of meeting the physical demands of working with children.
