Summary

The Sales and Management Intern position’s primary responsibility is to fulfill our mission statement, “to create the most enjoyable shopping experience possible for our Guests.” Additionally, Sales and Management Interns perform a variety of sales, merchandising and operational tasks assigned by store management (e.g. cashiering, merchandise display and pulls, register procedures, and routine cleaning of facilities). Work closely with the Store Manager to develop an understanding of how Buckle’s retail business works and what it takes to excel in management.

& Benefits

Pay range: $15–$17/hr the estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications and other job‑related reasons. For sales positions, Buckle pays a base rate plus commission on sales. The range listed is the estimated base rate plus commission for teammates in this position.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Sales Generation and Guest Service
  • Greet guests with a friendly, engaging attitude and provide legendary service.
  • Answer questions about store and merchandise.
  • Recommend, select and help locate or obtain merchandise based on guest needs.
  • Anticipate and fulfill guest needs by suggesting additional items.
  • Demonstrate product using product knowledge and sales education, consistently sharing knowledge with teammates.
  • Maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions, payment and exchange policies, and security practices.
  • Achieve personal sales‑per‑hour, average sales and total net sales goals set by Store Management.
  • Provide legendary service throughout the store in front 5, sales floor, fitting rooms and register area.
  • Help guests try on or fit merchandise.
  • Check out and bag purchases.
  • Prepare merchandise for alterations.
  • Know all exchange and return procedures for guests.
  • Fill out and use the Sales Presentation Guide daily.
  • Meet or exceed performance standards in Buckle business builders and guest loyalty including fit appointments, Buckle credit card and guest connect.
  • Place special orders or call other stores to find desired merchandise.
  • Maintain and build good guest relationships to develop client‑based business.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of Buckle’s customer service expectations to meet every guest’s needs.
  • Consistently maintain high standards, whether or not the manager is present.
