Barista; FSW

Summary

The Barista position requires the knowledge, skills and adaptability to multitask effectively in diverse restaurant, catering and café environments. Flexible scheduling is available with 6‑8 hour shifts in the morning (starting at 6:00 am) and/or evening, Monday‑Friday. Occasional weekends and holidays support special events. Year‑round availability is required.

• Welcome every guest, offer menu recommendations and ensure every customer leaves satisfied.
• Provide friendly, fast service while accurately entering orders and processing payments via the POS system.
• Prepare high‑quality espresso drinks, teas and specialty beverages following house recipes.
• Handle, warm up and serve pastries and light food items according to food safety protocols.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of service areas and guest seating throughout the shift.
• Clean and maintain espresso machines, grinders and brewers to ensure longevity and flavor quality.
• Monitor inventory levels and restock milk, beans and paper goods as needed.
• Prepares coffee and tea beverages, sandwiches, fruit and vegetable salads and box lunches.
• Assists with preparation and execution of catering events, sets up food service counters, steam tables and dining room tables.

• Must obtain and maintain a security clearance – requires 18 years of age.
• Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
• Verification of employment eligibility in the United States is required.
• Probationary period:

• Must be able to understand and communicate in English.
• Must complete an Occupational Health screening for this position.

• A detailed narrative for each KSA, demonstrating your qualifications and experience using specific examples, must be included in your application.
• Minimum of 6 months of customer service experience working in a food service role; experience as a barista preferred.
• Experience functioning in a fast‑paced restaurant, catering or café environment, managing tasks efficiently under short time constraints and maintaining sanitation standards.
• Experience using a POS (Point of Sale) system or cash register in a food service role; experience as a server or barista preferred.
• Experience using and cleaning equipment such as espresso machines, grinders and brewers.
