Veterinary Orthopedic & Sports Medicine Group – Full‑Time – Annapolis Junction, Maryland. The VOSM group is part of Thrive Pet Healthcare and cares for pets, clients, and staff.
We are a community of 400 clinics that provides rehabilitation and integrative medicine to cats and dogs in Maryland, DC, Delaware, Northern Virginia. Our specialties include orthopedic, neurology, sports medicine, and rehabilitation services. VOSM treats thousands of orthopedic patients yearly and receives challenging cases from other specialists worldwide.

Role Responsibilities- Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
- Perform re‑check appointments.
- Assist veterinarians and the medical team in maximizing productivity and maintaining positive patient flow.
- Assist with surgeries and procedures in accordance with your state’s Veterinary Practice Act for credentialed veterinary technicians.
- Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and offer guidance on Thrive Membership options, medications, and additional treatments.
- Assist in maintaining comprehensive medical records with practice systems.
- Obtain relevant health history and information from clients and maintain medical charts.
- Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and keep treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs clean, sterile, and organized.
- Mentor and support fellow team members.
- 1–2 years of clinical experience required.
- Veterinary Technician licensure required.
- Ability to perform venipuncture on canines and felines.
- Ability to place intravenous catheters in canine and feline patients.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from an AVMA‑accredited veterinary technology program preferred.
- Advanced animal handling experience in a veterinary setting.
- Able to work successfully as part of a team and autonomously.
- Ability to remain composed and focused in stressful and emergency situations.
- Flexible about working additional hours when necessary.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to lift 40 pounds.

Hourly pay rate starting at $27–$30 per hour. The actual rate will consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
