We are seeking a Purchasing Specialist to support procurement operations for raw materials, components, and production-related services. This role plays a critical part in maintaining production continuity by managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring materials are delivered on time and within budget.
The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in manufacturing procurement, supplier management, and ERP-based purchasing processes, along with the ability to collaborate closely with engineering and production teams.
Key Responsibilities Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management- Identify, evaluate, and qualify domestic and international suppliers for raw materials, components, and industrial equipment.
- Lead RFQ processes and negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and long‑term supply agreements.
- Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to support production and cost objectives.
- Create, process, and track purchase orders from initial request through delivery and receipt.
- Maintain purchasing data and ensure accuracy within the company’s ERP/MRP system.
- Monitor open orders and follow up with vendors to ensure timely delivery.
- Work closely with engineering and production teams to align purchasing activities with build schedules and technical requirements.
- Support procurement of materials and components required for ongoing manufacturing operations.
- Monitor inventory levels and reorder points to prevent production delays while minimizing excess stock.
- Identify cost reduction opportunities and analyze raw material pricing trends.
- Evaluate supplier performance related to delivery, cost, and product quality.
- Resolve supplier‑related issues including shortages, quality concerns, and delivery delays.
- Support corrective action initiatives to improve supplier performance.
- 6+ years of procurement or supply chain experience within a manufacturing environment
- Strong experience with ERP/MRP systems (such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms)
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel for reporting and data analysis
- Working knowledge of manufacturing processes and production lead times
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings or technical specifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field
- Professional certifications such as APICS, CSCP, CPSM, or CPM
- Experience supporting global sourcing and international logistics
- Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement initiatives
