OverviewThe Network Engineer will design, implement, and maintain secure and resilient network infrastructure in support of the Army's Project Manager Network Modernization (PdM Net Mod) program. This role ensures the reliability and performance of network systems while integrating cutting‑edge technologies.
Responsibilities- Performs network engineering functions including conceptualization, design, implementation, optimization and documentation using Microsoft and Visio products. Leverages experience in assessing user/customer needs, translating those into network changes through network baseband and transmission systems configuration, hardware and software integration, installation and testing.
- Conducts analysis and develops solutions in the application of information technology products and configurations. Produces and reviews technical documentation reflecting detailed knowledge of Army tactical network architectures, products and systems (PM-TN Inc1 variants).
- Deploys, configures, and troubleshoots technologies including Phoenix Igniter, Windows and Linux OS variants, Cisco routing and switching hardware/software, Themis, DTECH, KLAS, PACSTAR server platforms, ESXi virtual environment, LPE, RDT, Palo Alto Firewalls, REDCOM Voice/Video/messaging, WAVE Dispatcher, INE encryption, Nessus scanner, IQ‑Core, Vocality, Cradlepoint, iPXE, RADIUS, and numerous network engineering protocols.
- Executes regularly scheduled Communications Security item inventories in accordance with Department of Defense regulations, rules, and guidelines while maintaining inventory accountability, applicable documentation, procedure adherence, and program inspection and audit compliance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience with network protocols, firewalls, and encryption technologies.
- Proficiency in Cisco, Juniper, or other enterprise networking solutions.
- Security+ or Cisco certifications (CCNA, CCNP) preferred.
- Active Secret Clearance.
- 90k to 120k
