We are seeking a skilled Jr. Linux Systems Administrator to join our team in Annapolis Junction, MD.

Your combination of people skills and system administrator expertise makes you the team hero, solving one problem after another. What if you could use those skills to improve the technology supporting the Intelligence Community? We’re looking for a system administrator who specializes in maintaining the security posture of a Linux computing environment for a team of analysts and developers performing data science activities and developing forward-looking models to enhance strategic decisions about Information Technology performance and capacity.

As a system administrator on our project, you’ll manage user accounts, maintain the security posture of environments, and monitor the performance and health of the systems and data-processing applications. You’ll provide your customers insight into their network through monitoring and performance management.

Your system administrator expertise will be vital as you identify problem areas and opportunities for improvement in a mission-critical network. You’ll help your team better understand the network by turning metrics into information and explaining their meaning.

This is an opportunity to broaden your skillset into areas like site reliability engineering and cloud computing. We focus on growing as a team, so you’ll share your expertise through leadership and mentoring as you help the teamwork through challenges and develop new methodologies. As a system administration leader, you’ll identify new opportunities to modernize the network, so your clients achieve their goals.

Work with us and resolve daily challenges as we build models to improve the reliability and performance of some of the largest data warehouses and data processing platforms in the Intelligence Community.

You Have:
  • 3+ years of experience with system administrationfor U.S. Government customers
  • Experience maintaining and administeringvirtual machines,including Windows and Linux
  • Experience administering servers in AWS environments
  • Experience maintaining system compliance and accreditation
  • Experience troubleshooting technical issues in customsoftware
  • TS/SCI clearance with apolygraph
  • HS diploma or GED
  • Ability to obtain an IAT Level II Certification within 180 days of start date
Nice If You Have:
  • Experience with system state management toolssuch as Ansible for Linux andDesired

    State Configuration(DSC) for Windows
  • Experience setting-up and configuring system monitoring tools such as Nagios, Splunk, or Elastic
  • Experience with source control toolssuch asGit, programming languages such as Python, and system scripting languages such asBash and Power Shell
  • Experience writing technical documentation
  • Experience maintaining Elasticsearch or Elastic-stack products
  • Experienceidentifying and resolvingsecurity advisories and applyingvendor patches
  • Experience coordinating larger-scale systems administration efforts across multiple technical teams or organizations
  • Ability to maintainsoftware development infrastructure supporting environments, including developing, testing, and producing in a fast-paced, highly technical environment
  • IAT Level II Certification
