General Summary of Position

Job Summary:

Med Star Health is looking for a FT Patient Service Coordinator to join our team for the GI department in Annapolis, MD.

As a Patient Service Coordinator, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service to patients by greeting them warmly, managing check-in/out processes, gathering demographic information, verifying insurance, collecting copayments, and scheduling appointments.

Primary Duties:

  • Serve as the initial contact person at the medical practice or hospital department, greeting patients courteously and professionally.
  • Manage patient intake, screen for emergent conditions, register patients, verify insurance, and explain patient payment responsibilities.
  • Perform check-in and check-out procedures, input charges, and verify demographic and insurance information.
  • Coordinate efficient patient flow through the practice or hospital department.
  • Support organizational initiatives related to new technology, clinical programs, and improving the patient experience.

    • Qualifications:

  • 6 months to 1 year of high-quality customer service experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Working knowledge of IDX/GE Centricity business preferred.
  • High School Diploma.

    • Minimum Qualifications

    This position has a hiring range of $18.33 - $31.61.
