Responsibilities
- You will fabricate various test devices, electronic and mechanical, for instructional purposes.
- You will develop new experimental systems and demonstration units for a variety of engineering laboratories, including Mechanical Engineering Experimentation, Mechanical Vibrations, Ocean Engineering Structures, or other labs.
- You will determine test procedures and make design changes to improve test equipment and related accessories.
- You will set up, calibrate, and operate mechanical/electronic equipment associated with various engineering labs.
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

GS‑11
• Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS‑10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
1) Developing new experimental system and demonstration units in support of engineering laboratories;
2) Applying theories and techniques of engineering to assist and direct students to solve design problems;
3) Collecting and analyzing data to be used in technical papers and/or publications;
4) Reading, interpreting and generating complex mechanical drawings.
NOTE:
All experience must be fully demonstrated in your resume to be considered for the position.
GS‑10
• Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS‑09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
1) Assisting with the development of new experimental systems and demonstration units in support of engineering laboratories;
2) Collecting and evaluating data using mechanical and electronic devices;
3) Making changes to improve test equipment;
4) Calibrating and operating mechanical and electronic equipment for engineering labs.
