Job Description:

Zachary Piper Solutions is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join a growing team in support of a government agency. This position will be fully on-site, located in Annapolis Junction, MD. Responsibilities/Overview:
* Design and implement robust power distribution systems for vehicle-integrated equipment, including power distribution boxes, wiring harnesses, and cabling. Documenting design for some RF and Ethernet cables will also be required.

* Ensure designs adhere to relevant industry safety standards and codes (e.g., SAE, ISO, IPC,MIL-STD).

* Develop and maintain comprehensive electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and other design documentation using PTC Creo.

* Collaborate with technicians and manufacturing personnel to ensure designs are manufacturable and cost-effective. Provide support during assembly and integration.

* Update and revise drawings and documentation as needed based on feedback from technicians, manufacturing, and testing.

* Work directly with customers to understand their requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and occasionally assist in developing new requirements.

* Troubleshoot electrical issues and implement effective solutions.

* Participate in design reviews and provide technical input to cross-functional teams.

* Assist with fielding.

* Stay current with industry trends and advancements in electrical engineering and vehicle integration technologies.

* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering team.

Required Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

* Secret Clearance or Higher

* Proven experience in electrical system design, preferably in the automotive or related industries.

* Strong understanding of power distribution system design principles, including cable sizing, connector selection, circuit protection, and grounding techniques.

* Proficiency in using CAD software for electrical design, with PTC Creo experience preferred; experience with other CAD software will be considered.

* Familiarity with relevant industry standards and codes (e.g., SAE, ISO, IPC, MIL-STD).

* Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and customers.

* Hands-on experience with prototyping and integration is highly desirable.

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Compensation and Benefits: · $85,000-$135,000 Depending on Experience
