We are a growing multi‑disciplined firm of professional engineers, architects, environmental scientists, geologists, planners and landscape architects headquartered in Syracuse, NY, with branch offices throughout New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Connecticut and Maine. We are currently seeking a resourceful, self‑motivated and experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer with the ability to provide high‑level engineering services for a broad range of clientele. Applications for this position are being sought for B&L’s office locations in New York, Pennsylvania and Maryland. • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 10–15+ years of diverse consulting engineering experience on municipal, commercial, private and/or industrial facilities projects.
• Acute analytical skills and the capability to design and manage small to large projects with a comprehensive technical background across all facets of mechanical engineering.
• Strong working knowledge of fluid dynamics, heat transfer, mechanical power systems, digital control systems, building codes and industry standards such as ASHRAE.
• Desired soft skills include interfacing with internal and external clients, mentoring younger staff, and assistance with proposal development.

Excellent communication and writing skills are essential to accomplish synergistic interaction with both technical clients and co‑worker/staff. Software capabilities must include Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Revit, and HVAC design/energy analysis software (e.g. Carrier HAP). Technical capabilities must include a strong working knowledge of the application of fluid dynamics, heat transfer, mechanical power systems, digital control systems, building codes and industry standards such as ASHRAE.

A broad familiarity with the work of other project team members, including architects and structural, electrical and civil engineers, is desired to allow for effective, integrated and well‑coordinated project design solutions.

Additional industry certifications, including Certified Energy Manager or LEED AP, are considered a plus. Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) in NY, PA or MD (or eligibility to obtain) is desired.

Estimated Pay Range
: $115,000 - $145,000/year. Actual compensation may vary based on related work experience, geographical location and market conditions, education/training, certifications, and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills.
