Key School seeks a full-time Lower and Middle School Music Teacher for the school year. The successful candidate will have prior experience as a skilled and passionate music teacher. Reporting to the Middle School Division Head, the Lower and Middle School Music Teacher will provide an age appropriate, culturally responsive music program for Grades 1-6.
Job Responsibilities- Teach five sections of Music in Lower / Middle School
- Co-teach Percussion Ensemble in grades 7-8
- Supporting the performing arts program
- Develop and deliver engaging, age-appropriate music lessons that integrate Orff Schulwerk approach and music education for students.

- Culturally competent and nurturing, and will have the versatility to work with the range of students between first and sixth grades.
- Possess a growth mindset, strong collaboration and excellent communication and organizational skills
- Bachelor degree in Music Education or related field;
Masters Preferred - Certification in Orff Schulwerk - Levels I, II (Required), III (Preferred)
- Three years of classroom teaching experience
The ability to navigate stairs as part of daily routines; mobility around a mid-size campus with uneven pavement. The ability to maneuver as necessary within a regular classroom; and the ability to rearrange furniture for activities is occasionally required.
Compensation and BenefitsKey School offers competitive salaries and a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental and vision insurance, a generous 403(b) Plan, and more. Salary range: $46,820-$88,305.
Technical CompetenciesAll candidates for teaching positions should be familiar with learning management systems such as Seesaw and Google Classroom and have the ability to create and deliver engaging multimedia content using a variety of digital tools. Candidates should be proficient in using Google applications, have a solid understanding of cloud-based storage and file-sharing platforms, and efficiently manage email and scheduling using Gmail and Google Calendar.
They should be proficient in virtual communication tools such as Zoom or Google Meet and have basic troubleshooting skills.
Occasionally there may be business and school functions that will require your presence to work flexible hours, including nights and/or weekends and travel outside of Annapolis.
