Are you a Revit power user who loves both the technical precision of BIM and the creative challenge of sustainable design? Do you want to be THE go-to Revit expert on a collaborative team while working on meaningful residential and waterfront projects?

HD Squared Architects is a boutique woman-owned architecture firm in beautiful downtown Annapolis, and we're looking for a skilled Revit Architectural Designer to join our mission-driven team. This isn't just production work—you'll be our Revit champion, helping us complete our transition from Archi

CAD to Revit while creating construction documents for sustainable residential and small commercial projects that make a real difference for the Chesapeake Bay region.

Why This Role is Different

You’ll be our Revit leader. As we transition from Archi

CAD to Revit (completing by end of 2026), you’ll serve as the primary internal resource for Revit questions, help establish office standards and templates, and mentor the team. This is a chance to shape how we work.

Meaningful projects. Our work focuses on sustainable residential design, Chesapeake Bay Critical Area compliance, and waterfront properties. You’ll work on projects that balance client needs with environmental stewardship—not cookie-cutter developments.

Real Work-life Balance
  • Summer Fridays off (Memorial Day to Labor Day)
  • Alternate Fridays off (Labor Day to Memorial Day)
  • Flexible daily start/end times
Support For Your Growth
  • Partial AIA membership and licensure exam reimbursement
  • Continuing education budget
  • Direct mentorship from principal architect
What You’ll Do Technical Production
  • Create BIM models and construction documents in Revit for all project phases
  • Develop construction details, site plans with topography and regulatory constraints
  • Conduct site visits and create as-built drawings (manual or Lidar-assisted)
  • Coordinate consultant information into architectural drawings
  • Assist with code research, specifications, cost estimates, and municipal compliance calculations
  • Support construction administration including reviewing submittals and site observations
Revit Leadership
  • Be the go-to person for Revit questions and troubleshooting
  • Help create and maintain Revit templates, families, and standards
  • Contribute to developing office workflows and best practices
Design Support
  • Create renderings and presentation materials from design sketches
  • Assist with design competition entries and marketing graphics
  • Develop interior elevations and material selections
What We’re Looking For Required
  • Architecture degree from NAAB-accredited program
  • 3-5 years professional experience in an architecture firm
  • Strong Revit proficiency - you should be comfortable troubleshooting and teaching others
  • Experience with construction detailing and technical documentation
  • Working knowledge of building codes
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and Bluebeam
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently
  • Passion for sustainable design and collaborative team culture
Bonus Points
  • Residential or historic preservation experience
  • Archi

CAD familiarity (helpful during our transition)
  • Knowledge of Chesapeake Bay Critical Area regulations
  • Green building certification or sustainable design experience
  • Advanced rendering or graphic design skills
  • Actively pursuing architectural licensure
What We Offer
  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience
  • Generous PTO, 7 paid holidays, plus birthday holiday after 1 year
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance (50% employer-paid)
  • SIMPLE Roth IRA with 3% employer match
  • Professional development support (AIA membership, licensure exams, continuing ed)
  • Monthly phone stipend
  • Beautiful downtown Annapolis location with parking
  • Small collaborative team with direct access to leadership
  • Meaningful work on projects that matter for the environment

  • Character Driven – We operate with integrity, honesty, and transparency
  • Impact Oriented – We deliver exceptional outcomes for our clients and firm
  • Resourceful – We maintain excellence in every aspect of our work
