Operations Lead, Tankers

Location:

Annapolis, MD

Overview

To enhance NORDEN’s commitment to delivering high‑quality customer service, we are seeking an Operations Lead for our Annapolis office. You will work in close collaboration with Operations leaders across our global regions, while taking full ownership of regional operational performance. You will ensure consistency and quality through clear performance oversight and structured operating practices, ensuring high standards are upheld in service delivery to both pool partners and charterers.

A key responsibility of this position is the development and leadership of a skilled, inclusive regional team. The role highlights the importance of cultivating and maintaining reliable partner relationships, efficiently managing stakeholder interactions and contributing to the planning and execution of impactful pool meetings and partner‑oriented events.

You will report directly to the Head of Operations, Tankers, located in Copenhagen.

What’s in it for you

Join a collaborative, empowering organisation with a global reach and a strong local presence. At NORDEN, we believe in reliability, flexibility, ambition and empathy. As the Operations Lead, you will enable significant commercial development by engaging with diverse colleagues, directing the Tankers strategy, and supporting a team culture that encourages everyone to thrive.

In your position as Operations Lead, you will manage our cost‑focused programs to enhance productivity and lower voyage costs. By supporting a positive team culture and participating in the execution of client contracts, you will play a central role in attaining favourable P&L performance and raising pool earnings for our clients.

This role enables you to set an example while making significant contributions — across commercial, strategic and personal levels.

Responsibilities
  • Allocate your time to vessel operations and developing the strategy while guiding a skilled team.
  • Represent NORDEN at industry events and regulatory meetings.
  • Partner with US office management to shape strategy, launch new initiatives and enhance relationships with customers, brokers, owners and other stakeholders.
  • Partner with the global operations management team in Tankers to set a refined global operations strategy.
  • Encourage a collaborative atmosphere that prioritises mutual respect and development.
  • Set clear goals, provide feedback and mentor shipping professionals.

You are well‑experienced as an Operations Manager and are used to mentoring those around you.

Qualifications
  • A minimum of 5 years of shipping operations experience (tanker or dry cargo).
  • A genuine interest in the opportunity to live in Annapolis. Known for its beautiful surroundings and close‑knit community atmosphere, Annapolis offers something for everyone, from cultural events and dining to sailing and scenic trails.
  • A positive personality, with a keen interest in growing into a leadership role.
  • A commitment to progress and an openness to new experiences.
Application

Please upload your motivated application, resume and relevant diplomas via our website as soon as possible and no later than 1 February 2026. We review applications and interview candidates on an ongoing basis.

We will do our best to get back to you at least within ten working days after the Final date to receive applications, 1 February 2026.
