Qualifications & Experience Requirements for Business Office Coordinator
  • Previous experience as a Business Office Coordinator preferred
  • The primary purpose of this position is to assist in the day-to-day accounting functions of the facility in accordance with current acceptable accounting and cost reimbursement principles relating to the long-term care operation, and as may be directed by the Administrator.
  • Process and verify payment of invoices on a timely basis.
  • Verify invoices received for quantity, unit price, extensions and discounts.
  • Make written reports to the Administrator on invoices received that do no match purchase orders.
  • Code invoices with appropriate chart of account number to assure that expenses are distributed to the correct expense accounts.
  • Verify voucher reports, remittance advices, checks and journals for the accuracy of each report.
  • Communicate with supplier/vendors concerning errors or questions on invoices.
  • Prepare monthly totals of open invoices, accounts payable, cash disbursements, etc., as may be directed.
  • Post payments received to appropriate resident account.
  • Auditing on a regular basis accounts receivable ledger cards, preparing schedules and making proper corrections when necessary.
  • Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations and accurately maintain financial ledgers according to regulatory standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • 2+ year's experience in accounting.
  • Knowledge of basic Medicaid/Medicare regulations.
  • Knowledge on auditing accounts.
  • Must be detail oriented
