Job Title:
Front Desk Admin. for State Office Buildings in Annapolis

Hours: 32 hours per week, Tuesday through Friday (8 hours / day during business hours)

This is a temporary position to assist during the State’s Legislative Session and will run for 45-60 days.

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and organized Front Desk Administrative Support professional to be the welcoming face for the Department of General Services for visitors who come to State office buildings in Annapolis, Maryland during the current Legislative Session. In this vital role, you will greet visitors to the State government buildings, provide exceptional customer service, and support daily administrative functions to ensure smooth visitor flow.

Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help create a positive environment for visitors and employees alike. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your office management and customer service skills while contributing to a professional and friendly workplace.

Responsibilities
  • Greet visitors, State employees, and vendors warmly, ensuring a positive first impression.
  • Answer multi-line phone systems promptly and professionally, directing calls efficiently.
  • Verifying State identification cards.
  • Monitor the flow of visitor traffic entering and exiting the House of Delegates, Miller Senate Building, and Calvert parking garage.
  • Direct visitors to the appropriate security checkpoints, and hand out visitor stickers.
  • Direct traffic and provide directions for visitor flow.
Qualifications
  • MUST BE CUSTOMER SERVICE ORIENTED!
  • Proven office experience with strong administrative skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Bilingual abilities are preferred to serve diverse client needs effectively
