The City of Anna Police Department is seeking qualified candidates for both sworn and non‑sworn positions. Pay is commensurate with experience. Lateral entry is offered to out‑of‑state officers and in‑state TCOLE‑certified officers. For more information, email our team.

In‑state TCOLE Certified Officers will enter the pay scale based on their years of full‑time Police Officer experience. Time spent in an academy, correctional service, or military police service does NOT count toward lateral entry eligibility.
Applicants may qualify for varying STEP levels based on full‑time paid experience:
- Three (3) or more years of full‑time paid experience may qualify to start at STEP‑2.
- Five (5) or more years of full‑time paid experience may qualify to start at STEP‑3.
- Applicants wishing to be considered for lateral entry must provide performance evaluations for their last three (3) years of full‑time experience.
Out‑of‑state Police Officers must meet all TCOLE requirements. Check the TCOLE site to make sure you qualify. Candidate must complete all required coursework and pass the TCOLE exam within 90 days, subject to course availability.
Consideration of lateral entry will be granted on a case‑by‑case basis following a review of the candidate’s application, Personal History Statement, and supplied performance evaluations. Passing all stages of the hiring process is mandatory. A determination to grant or deny lateral entry will be made prior to a conditional job offer.
