Overview

The Shipping Logistics Specialist is responsible for coordinating and executing domestic and international shipments to ensure timely, accurate, and cost-effective delivery of goods. This role partners closely with operations, inventory, vendors, and carriers to manage shipping schedules, documentation, compliance, and continuous process improvement across the logistics function.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate outbound and inbound shipments across domestic and international lanes
  • Select and manage carriers, freight forwarders, and third-party logistics providers
  • Prepare and review shipping documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, and customs paperwork
  • Track shipments, proactively resolve delays, and communicate status updates to internal stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with shipping regulations, trade compliance requirements, and internal SOPs
  • Monitor freight costs, audit carrier invoices, and identify cost-reduction opportunities
  • Collaborate with inventory, warehouse, and production teams to align shipping schedules with demand
  • Maintain accurate shipping records and data within ERP, WMS, or TMS systems
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to shipping efficiency, accuracy, and service levels
Required Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in shipping, logistics, or supply chain operations
  • Working knowledge of domestic and international shipping processes
  • Experience with common carriers (LTL, FTL, parcel, air, ocean)
  • Familiarity with shipping documentation and Incoterms
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with ERP, WMS, or TMS platforms and Microsoft Excel
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with customs compliance and international trade regulations
  • Prior exposure to cost analysis and freight optimization
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, distribution, or e-commerce operations
  • APICS, CSCMP, or related logistics certification
