The Boro is our side‑door takeout arm of The Dixboro Project – an all‑day café featuring wood‑fired pizzas, takeaway meals, a full range of expertly baked goods, Roos Roast coffee, adult beverages and much more.

The Café Manager leads The Boro’s bakery, café, and take‑away programs with a deep commitment to exceptional hospitality and service. This role ensures every guest interaction reflects heartfelt care and warmth, while building the systems and standards that allow the café to operate seamlessly and profitably.
The Café Manager is the expert on all offerings – including food, beverage, retail, service styles and multiple revenue streams – and models genuine salesmanship and guides the team in confidently presenting and selling the diverse experiences we offer through The Boro. They are responsible for training and developing the team while maintaining a professional, supportive work environment where efficiency, excellence and values‑driven decision‑making are embedded into every aspect of café operations.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Expert on all café offerings, service standards, operating procedures and culture; sets tone for a high‑performing team through professionalism and leadership.
- Leads, trains and develops new and existing team members with commitment to continuous growth, ensuring consistent execution of our high service standards and expectations.
- Partners closely with the management team to ensure alignment, clear communication and collaborative decision‑making in support of departmental goals and the broader success of The Dixboro Project.
- Models and inspires heartfelt hospitality, creating warm, memorable experiences for every guest.
- Views the café through the guest’s perspective, maintaining a pristine, welcoming environment throughout service and surrounding dining areas.
- Ensures all steps of service are consistently met, providing clear guidance and real‑time coaching to uphold the highest service standards.
- Acts with care for all three stakeholders – the guest, the team and the business – in every interaction and decision.
- Oversees weekly ordering and inventory, ensuring accurate counts and proper product levels.
- Schedules proactively for volume, rushes and seasonal needs to ensure smooth, well‑prepared shifts.
- Troubleshoots IT and PoS issues, ensuring accurate ringing and product set‑up.
- Ensures equipment is properly maintained and communicates maintenance or repair needs promptly.
- Upholds and exceeds food and beverage quality standards while ensuring full health code compliance.
- Upholds the highest standards of cleanliness and organization across all work and guest‑facing areas; ensures the café is consistently clean, uncluttered and visually polished, with tools and resources intentionally placed for efficiency and presentation.
- Drives sales through deep knowledge of all café offerings and effective execution of new product launches.
- Coaches and develops team members with the intention of driving continuous growth for the individual, the team and the business.
- Partners with the leadership team to set quarterly goals and objectives and identify creative strategies to achieve them.

- Proven experience as a manager in the hospitality industry.
- Experience in a café setting.
- Demonstrate self‑management skills and emotional intelligence.
- Knowledge of hospitality operations and familiarity with restaurant management software and PoS systems.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
