Position Overview

Junior Formulation Scientist, Cosmetics – Associate I – Lab Support.

You Are

We are looking for a passionate and detail-oriented Junior formulation scientist, Cosmetics to support formulation and quality efforts for raw materials and finished products in consumer health. This role is ideal for recent graduates seeking to gain hands‑on experience in a GMP‑regulated laboratory within the personal care and consumer health industry.

Responsibilities
  • Formulation Batching:
    Prepare lab-scale batches of finished products such as baby shampoos, sunscreens, and mouthwashes for development and testing.
  • Raw Material Testing:
    Perform laboratory testing, including wet chemistry and chromatographic techniques (e.g., HPLC, GC), to release raw materials for GMP and pilot-scale use.
  • Material

    Qualification:

    Test and evaluate new or alternate raw materials and support the development of research specifications.
  • Compendial & In‑House Methods:
    Execute analytical testing using USP, EP, and other compendial methods, as well as in‑house validated procedures, for both raw materials and finished goods.
  • Documentation & Data Integrity:
    Maintain accurate and complete laboratory documentation, including test methods, protocols, reports, and electronic databases.
  • Material Release & Database Management:
    Ensure timely testing and release of incoming raw materials; update material databases with specifications, appearance, and test dates.
  • Lab Safety & Compliance:
    Uphold safety standards by maintaining a clean, safe working environment and participating in safety and compliance training programs.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related science field.
  • 6 months to 1 year of laboratory experience preferred (internships or co‑op programs accepted).
  • Familiarity with analytical instrumentation (e.g., HPLC, GC, UV‑Vis) and wet chemistry techniques.
  • Knowledge of GMP, GLP, and compendial standards (USP, EP) is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail, data accuracy, and good documentation practices.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills in a team-based environment.
Role Location

New Jersey.

Compensation Range

USD 40,000 – 60,000.
