American Traveler is seeking an experienced NICU RN for a Level IV Neonatal ICU position requiring at least 2 years of NICU experience, PICU experience, and an active Michigan RN license.
Details- Primary placement is in a 59-bed Level IV NICU, with potential cross-coverage into a 30-bed multi-acuity PICU as scheduling needs dictate
- NICU serves a complex patient population including premature newborns and infants requiring ECMO, high frequency ventilation, nitric oxide therapy, and whole body or selective head cooling for hypothermic neuroprotection
- Approximately 80% of NICU admissions are inborn; 20% are transported from regional referral centers with 24/7 neonatal transport services available
- PICU serves patients from newborn to young adult across a wide range of specialties including pediatric surgery, neurosurgery, hematology/oncology, BMT, nephrology, transplant, and cardiology
- PICU utilizes advanced technology including ECMO, nitric oxide, high frequency ventilation, and CRRT
- Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
- Epic EMR (preferred)
- Active Michigan (MI) RN license required
- Current certifications required: NRP, BLS, and PALS
- Minimum 2 years of NICU RN experience with PICU experience required
- Preferred: 2 years of combined experience across PICU, PCTU, NICU, and/or moderate care settings
- Proficiency with NICU IV access required
- Experience attending high-risk deliveries required
- At least 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a supervisor
- Provides acute-phase through recovery nursing care to neonates and pediatric patients using a family-centered care model, including family education, individualized support, and discharge preparation
- NICU nurses may serve as members of the neonatal transport team
- Candidates who have been employed by this health system within the past 12 months are not eligible to apply
