- Shift Options: Day/Evening rotating shifts (2x8s and 2x12s: 06:30–14:30 / 14:30–22:30 and 06:30–18:30 / 10:30–22:30) or Day/Evening rotating 5x8s (06:30–14:30 / 14:30–22:30). Shift rotation required.
- Call Requirements: 2–4 weeknight call shifts and 1–2 weekend call shifts per 4-week schedule (no call shift longer than 12 hours)
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,870 – $3,020 (competitive travel nurse pay)
- Active Michigan RN license required (must be in hand at time of submission; Michigan is not compact)
- Minimum 2 years recent CVOR / cardiac OR RN experience
- Previous travel nurse experience required (travel CVOR RN preferred)
- Scrub experience demonstrating level 3 or 4 on the skills checklist
- Certifications required prior to start: BLS (AHA), ACLS, CNOR
- Two manager or supervisor references required (charge RN references not accepted)
- Flu vaccination required (no exemptions; allergy-free option required if allergic)
- Trauma Level I or II experience preferred; experience with ECMO, LVAD, transplant, and advanced vascular cases a plus
- Deliver expert perioperative care for adult cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgical patients, including high-acuity and complex cases
- Perform both scrub and circulate roles as a perioperative nurse, maintaining strict sterile technique and infection control standards
- Support a wide range of procedures: CABG, MVR, AVR, ECMO, heart and lung transplant, MAZE, LVAD/RVAD, aortic aneurysm repair, VATS, lobectomy, esophagectomy, and advanced vascular surgeries
- Utilize advanced surgical equipment, including the Da Vinci Xi Robot, cell saver, and electrosurgical units
- Participate in a flexible and supportive call program, ensuring timely response to urgent surgical needs
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, perfusion, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Document intraoperative care accurately, complete surgical counts, and communicate effectively with the surgical team
- Contribute to a positive team environment with flexible scheduling and supportive management focused on retention and professional development
