Position Purpose
In-patient, 6 bed adult unit, mix of cardiac and medicine patients. Treatment Team consists of RNs, Patient Care Techs on day shift.
Patient population consists of critically ill patients with ST elevation MI, unstable post cardiac procedure, Cardiogenic shock, Cardiac Arrest requiring hypothermia, or any hemodynamic unstable patients requiring pressers or patients requiring the Impella device or an IABP.
RN’s are required to take Critical Care Core classes or test out. Also, ACLS required.
Shift7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
Status AvailableFull time, Part time. Every Other Weekend and Every other Holiday per year required for Full-time and Part-Time team members.
Required Qualifications- Graduation from a school of nursing that results in the ability of the graduate to sit for the NCLEX exam to become licensed as a Registered Nurse. BSN preferred.
- BLS.
- ACLS required for the following departments:
Float Pool, Cardiac/Cath Lab, AICU, Emergency. - Effective January 1, 2013, all new hires must have a BSN degree or must agree in writing to obtain their BSN within five (5) years from date of hire or transfer to an RN role.
- Knowledge of nursing theory, practice and age specific needs.
- Interpersonal skills necessary to initiate and maintain collegial relationships with coworkers and therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
- Critical thinking skills necessary to perform principal duties and responsibilities of job description.
- Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail when planning and performing professional nursing care.
