RN niights part time

Position Purpose

Provides quality patient centered care considering age specific, developmental, cultural and patient needs. The role is within the Labor and Delivery unit, which includes 12 LDR’s, 4 High Risks Rooms, 7 Bed Triage Areas, 6 Ante partum Rooms, 3 C/Section Rooms, and 4 Bed PACU. All patient rooms are private.

Part time

Evening Shift (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM). Every other weekend and every other holiday per year required for full‑time and part‑time team members.

• Graduation from a school of nursing with the ability to sit for the NCLEX exam to become licensed as a Registered Nurse. BSN preferred.
• New graduate nurses must have licensure examination scheduled within 45 days of hire.
• Current State of Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) License.
• BLS required.
• ACLS required for Float Pool, Cardiac/Cath Lab, AICU, Emergency.

• Graduation from accredited nursing program.
• Effective January 1, 2013 all new hires must have a BSN degree or must agree in writing to obtain their BSN within five (5) years from date of hire or transfer to an RN role.
• Knowledge of nursing theory, practice and age specific needs.
• Interpersonal skills necessary to initiate and maintain collegial relationships with coworkers and therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
• Critical thinking skills necessary to perform principal duties and responsibilities of job description.
• Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail when planning and performing professional nursing care.

• Gathers and analyzes patient information.
• Develops, implements, evaluates and revises an individualized plan of care.
