Position Purpose
Provides quality patient centered care considering age specific, developmental, cultural and patient needs. The role is within the Labor and Delivery unit, which includes 12 LDR’s, 4 High Risks Rooms, 7 Bed Triage Areas, 6 Ante partum Rooms, 3 C/Section Rooms, and 4 Bed PACU. All patient rooms are private.

ShiftEvening Shift (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM). Every other weekend and every other holiday per year required for full‑time and part‑time team members.

- Maternal Fetal Medicine available
- Graduation from a school of nursing with the ability to sit for the NCLEX exam to become licensed as a Registered Nurse. BSN preferred.
- New graduate nurses must have licensure examination scheduled within 45 days of hire.
- Current State of Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) License.
- BLS required.
- ACLS required for Float Pool, Cardiac/Cath Lab, AICU, Emergency.
- Graduation from accredited nursing program.
- Effective January 1, 2013 all new hires must have a BSN degree or must agree in writing to obtain their BSN within five (5) years from date of hire or transfer to an RN role.
- Knowledge of nursing theory, practice and age specific needs.
- Interpersonal skills necessary to initiate and maintain collegial relationships with coworkers and therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
- Critical thinking skills necessary to perform principal duties and responsibilities of job description.
- Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail when planning and performing professional nursing care.
