Plant Team Lead

This position will be responsible for leading a work shift in completion of steel processes. This will include training new hires and further developing all team members through creating a positive work environment and providing ongoing communication. TSS is a 24/7 operation and this position will include alternate work hours.

• Establish and communicate team goals
• Oversee the day‑to‑day operations of a department to ensure safety and quality
• Monitor team performance and report on metrics
• Identify training needs and provide coaching
• Listen to team members’ feedback and resolve any issues or conflicts
• Assist the Supervisor with hiring process and new hire training
• Conduct team meetings to update employees’ adherence to company objectives and performance goals
• Provide answers to employees’ questions, assist with employee issues, and oversee work quality in compliance with guidelines
• Organize workflow and review employees’ timecards to ensure accuracy of time punches according to approved work schedule
• Operate machinery and equipment as needed

Job Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED; some college or training certifications preferred
• 2 years manufacturing experience
• 1 year leadership experience or training
• Forklift operator experience, and overhead crane preferred
• Able to read a tape measure, micrometer, and caliper
• Excellent communication skills

This position operates in a manufacturing shop environment. Exposure to noise, dust, and materials consistent with a manufacturing environment is constant. This is a physically demanding position including extensive walking and prolonged standing, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
