The Director
- Facilities Management is responsible for the planning, execution and ongoing management of the TH Michigan Medical Groups’ activities related to strategic development, lease execution (in conjunction with regional lease management team), lease administration, property management including facility design, construction, maintenance as well as facility transition services for initial occupancy of new locations. In this state-wide position, provides project management or leadership advisory functions within Trinity Health Michigan Medical Groups for various financial or strategic initiatives.
Leadership and Management Responsibilities
- Manages assigned staff - hiring, training, supervision, evaluation, disciplining and terminations; ensures that policy is followed, procedures are updated and supports Finance training efforts for the organization.
- Manage the work of assigned staff including the monitoring of staff competencies, hiring of new staff, orientation of new assignments, developing goals and objectives, conducting annual performance appraisal and the utilization of performance resolution process when needed.
- Review annual staff satisfaction reports, develops, implements and monitors ongoing improvement plans.
- Ensure the effective onboarding of new team members by implementing an orientation and training program for all new staff; ensures successful integration into the finance team.
- Manage property management and facility maintenance teams and department functions in a way that builds and leverages teamwork and cooperation; inspires a shared sense of mission and achievement among team members.
- Promote educational opportunities for staff; develop future leadership within the assigned team.
- Maintain a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State and local laws and regulations, Trinity Health Corporate Integrity Program, Code of Ethics, as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical and professional behavior.
- Responsible for the maintenance and lease administration for the practice and operational support locations throughout the MI Medical Groups.
- Contribute to the broader management of real estate through input into and involvement in the establishment and carrying out TH MI Medical Groups strategies, policies, practices, procedures.
- Develop and implement plans for the leasing, development, acquisition and disposition of real estate including new site identification, purchases either directly or through joint ventures, lease renewal, reconfiguration, renegotiation, expansion and relocation for the business supported
- Recommend and provide guidance for space usage, site optimization, re-deployment of underutilized assets and recommendation of strategies to take advantage of unique market conditions.
- Oversee the design, construction and move process for new space, re-locations and new developments for medical group operations.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with all internal customers and other functions including but not limited to Ambulatory, Business Development, Finance, Insurance and Risk, Legal, etc.
- Serve as an active participant in TH MI Medical Groups management team providing guidance and support to real estate-related activities.
- Utilize knowledge of space programming, space use standards, trends and practices, in applicable disciplines.
- Recommend capital expenditure budgets and project costs, provide financial modeling and analytical support to real estate projects.
- Recommend selection of new space, including subjective and financial analysis of alternative locations, negotiation of business terms, development and coordination of the approval process.
- Interface with diverse range of management and staff, actively manages numerous internal and external resources, consultants and contractors.
