We are seeking a Data Engineer to own, maintain, and modernize a highly analytical data and reporting environment. While the current ecosystem is business-critical and requires strong operational ownership, this role will also help guide its evolution toward more scalable, sustainable, and modern data practices.

This position blends hands‑on maintenance of existing pipelines and reporting processes with opportunities to improve architecture, streamline workflows, and introduce modern tools where they add meaningful value. The ideal candidate brings a pragmatic mindset — someone who respects the complexity of legacy systems while helping move the environment forward in a thoughtful, low‑risk way.

• Own the day-to-day reliability of existing data pipelines, reporting processes, and analytical workflows
• Maintain and enhance nightly exports, transformations, and scheduled data processes
• Identify opportunities to modernize legacy solutions while ensuring business continuity
• Design and improve ETL/ELT workflows that increase maintainability, transparency, and performance
• Partner closely with actuarial, finance, and analytical stakeholders to support complex reporting needs
• Support and enhance analytical models built in Excel, Power Query, and DAX
• Improve data structures to enable deeper multidimensional analysis while preserving existing business logic
• Help guide the gradual transition away from legacy reporting platforms toward more flexible analytical tooling
• Strengthen data validation, reconciliation, governance, and documentation practices
• Contribute to a long‑term reporting and data strategy aligned with evolving business needs

• Strong experience with SQL and relational data modeling
• Hands‑on experience maintaining and building ETL/ELT workflows and scheduled data processes
• Comfort working within legacy reporting environments while introducing incremental improvements
• Advanced Excel, Power Query, and DAX experience supporting complex analytical models
• Strong focus on data accuracy, traceability, and operational stability
• Ability to balance maintenance responsibilities with forward‑looking enhancements

• Experience modernizing or enhancing legacy platforms such as SQL Server Reporting Services
• Exposure to actuarial, financial, or risk‑oriented data environments
• Experience with Power BI for analytical or matrix‑style reporting
• Familiarity with cloud data platforms or orchestration tools
• Background contributing to reporting modernization or data platform evolution
