Solutions Engineer, Mid-Market, US Public Sector

You will be part of Cisco's fastest-growing sales teams, providing technical expertise and guiding customers through solutions that drive higher value. The Global Virtual Sales and Engineering team delivers technology sales, connecting Cisco customers with solutions that transform their businesses.

Your Impact: The Solutions Engineer (SE) is a customer‑focused technical sales professional who ensures that technical information and guidance is delivered to the customer, creating measurable outcomes from Cisco’s product and services portfolio.

Responsibilities
  • Become a trusted technology advisor to the customer and Cisco account team.
  • Leverage Cisco technology, services, and support specialists when necessary.
  • Collaborate closely with Inside Account Executives (iAEs) on account planning.
  • Educate customers on Cisco differentiation, creating demand.
  • Work with key partners to scale and set brand preference to Cisco.
  • Align Cisco’s product and services capabilities to customer business drivers.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Translate customer and partner business needs into technical requirements.
  • Knowledge of Cisco’s solutions and networking fundamentals.
  • Passion for learning technology and applying knowledge to help customers succeed.
  • Collaborative team player, flexible in adapting to rapid change.
  • Bachelor’s degree in physical sciences, engineering, economics or mathematics or equivalent.
  • 1+ years of industry‑related experience.
  • Cisco product experience or relevant experience in key competitor offerings in the technology area of emphasis.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CCNA, CCNP, CCIE or similar vendor certification.
  • Customer intimacy skills.
  • Pre‑sales experience.
  • Knowledge about market competition including solutions, technology and offerings.
