About the Role: The Public Space Attendant at The Vanguard Hotel plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and welcoming atmosphere of all public areas within the hotel. The attendant is responsible for routine cleaning, restocking supplies, and promptly addressing any maintenance issues or guest concerns related to public spaces. By upholding high standards of hygiene and presentation, the Public Space Attendant contributes directly to overall guest satisfaction and the hotel’s reputation for excellence.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in custodial, janitorial, or public space maintenance roles preferred but not required.
• Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
• Basic communication skills to interact courteously with guests and team members.
• Availability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in a hotel or hospitality environment.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies, and safe handling procedures.
• Customer service experience with a focus on guest satisfaction.
• Ability to identify and report maintenance issues effectively.
• Certification in hospitality or facility maintenance is a plus.

Responsibilities:

• Perform regular cleaning and sanitization of all public areas including lobbies, hallways, restrooms, and meeting rooms to ensure a spotless environment.
• Monitor and replenish supplies such as hand towels, soaps, and other amenities in public restrooms and common areas.
• Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or damages observed in public spaces to the appropriate department promptly.
• Assist guests by providing directions or information about hotel facilities and services when needed.
• Collaborate with housekeeping and maintenance teams to coordinate efforts that enhance the overall guest experience.

Skills: The Public Space Attendant utilizes strong organizational skills daily to manage cleaning schedules and ensure all areas are maintained to the highest standards. Attention to detail is critical when inspecting public spaces for cleanliness and safety, allowing the attendant to identify issues before they impact guests.
