Job SummaryThe Prevention Research Collaborative, based in the Department of Health Behavior and Health Equity (HBHE) at the University of Michigan School of Public Health is seeking a knowledgeable and experienced research project manager to coordinate and support the day-to-day operations for the Healthy Minds Network (HMN). The Prevention Research Collaborative (PRC) brings together research teams from the CDC-funded Prevention Research Center, Michigan Youth Violence Prevention Center, Healthy Minds Network, Housing and Health Equity Solutions, and several affiliated federally funded research initiatives focusing on school and community-based approaches to promoting safe, healthy, and equitable communities.
The Healthy Minds Network is one of the nation's premier research organizations contributing to adolescent and young adult mental health. HMN is dedicated to improving the mental and emotional well-being of young people through innovative, multidisciplinary scholarship. HMN spans coast to coast with our principal investigators at the University of California-Los Angeles, the University of Michigan, Wayne State University, and Boston University.
Our network proudly serves as a resource for post-secondary education administrators, students, researchers, clinicians, policymakers, and the greater public. For over 15 years, the Healthy Minds network has administered the Healthy Minds Study (HMS), a population-level survey of post-secondary student mental health. Over 935,000 responses from students at more than 675 colleges and universities have been gathered. In the past few years, the network's research efforts have expanded into other facets of mental health in educational settings, including the role and health of faculty and staff.
The HMN Operations Lead will work closely with the HMN Director, PRC Managing Director and Administrative staff to coordinate and support the day-to-day administrative operations for the Healthy Minds Study. This includes interfacing with participating institutions, training and onboarding new study coordinator staff, support and coordination of student assistants, assisting with budgeting and financial operations, and developing processes and procedures for efficient study coordination.
As part of the Prevention Research Collaborative, this position will also participate in PRC initiatives and will contribute to the overall mission of the Collaborative.

Responsibilities*- Assist Healthy Minds PIs to coordinate and support day-to-day operations for the HMS study
- Assist with budget projections and strategic planning
- Provide input for staffing needs and participate in strategic planning for the Healthy Minds Study
- Supervise student research assistants and coordinate onboarding/offboarding
- Assist with training and mentoring a small team of study coordinators
- Coordinate HMN Communications activities (website updates and other communications activities)
- Assist with event planning, including the annual HMN symposium
- Master's degree in public health, social social work or related field and 4-5 years of relevant experience
- 2 years of experience coordinating and managing social sciences research projects, with demonstrated ability to manage timelines, competing priorities, and multiple stakeholders
- 1-2 years of experience designing and administering surveys using Qualtrics, with demonstrated knowledge of survey research processes, including IRB submission and compliance, consent procedures, incentives, data use or data sharing agreements, and reporting or translation of research findings
- 1-2 years of experience working with University of Michigan administrative, research, and contract processes, policies, and procedures
- Demonstrated experience supporting or coordinating multi-site or multi-institution research projects and working with external academic partners
