Job DescriptionUnder the general supervision of the Nurse Operations Manager, this role will assist the Health Educator in providing for the medical needs of our residents. This may include medication passing, attending physician appointments, completing treatments, documenting and/or other assigned tasks. The Medical Assistant may also act as a phlebotomist when trained appropriately. Responsible for managing medical supply inventory.
Role and Responsibilities- Manage resident medical appointments
- Schedule/Attend external appointments
- Ensure vitals are documented/available to treatment team
- Weekly cart count
- Coordinate with the pharmacy during med cart changeover to ensure medication reconciliation
- Manage bio‑hazard collection and removal services
- Inventory and manage all medical supplies
- Lab draw, as directed
- Administer injections, as directed
- Complete/manage TB tests, as directed
- High School Diploma
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (preferred)
- Driver's License
- Possesses the ability to work in a constantly changing environment, good judgment skills, and capable of making decisions with attention to detail.
- Must have excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize and coordinate workload with a high degree of proficiency and accuracy.
- Must have excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work easily and cooperatively with other departments.
- Ability to work independently and follow through on tasks without direct supervision.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a flexible, diplomatic, and expeditious manner.
- Maintains strict confidentiality of patients’ medical records and adherence to all HIPAA policies and regulations.
- Good overall knowledge of Eisenhower Center departments and their respective scopes.
